The ups & downs of life, coupled with a series of mysterious fires put this close family to the test.
This is a wonderful story of the hard times of the Depression; a story of unconditional love, hope and faith.

After about 50 pages this book still had not gripped me. I like a book to grab me right in the first couple of pages, so the book may be good - it just doesn't get started quickly. Still, what I read was very descriptive and I could tell the main character was going to be a very smart young lady. She would, no doubt, have overcome some large hurdles and survived many tough circumstances.
