I was unfamiliar with many aspects of military family life, and being a wife of an officer in AMEDD... well, they tell you next to nothing. This book filled in a few holes of information, but on the whole was too general for my tastes. It definitely helped when my husband was deployed--especially when nobody in the unit at home knew what was going on, I could find out. It is a good starter book to give you a taste of what's in store for you as the wife of a military member.
