The toothless fairy has eaten too many sweets and only has one tooth. She doesn't have any friends because she thinks that she will scare them because she is ugly. Then Halloween comes around and she notices that the kids are all dressed up in weird and scary costumes and she fits in. It is time for her to find a friend!
The first thing I have to comment on is the illustrations. They were beautiful. They were vivid and seemed to transport you too this realm. I absolutely loved them. They colors were brilliant and rich. Children and adults will love the illustrations.
The story was written in verse which was really cute. Overall, I really liked the story. It was lighthearted and humorous. My only concern is that the message was a little messed up. Ugly people can only have friends when they are supposedly hiding behind a mask. As an adult, this is the moral I got out of the story. I don't think small children will read into it like an adult though. And the illustrations make up for the skewed moral!
