It was interesting to me because we visit New Mexico regularly. It described life there for a youngster growing up poor in the 50's and 60's which makes them my generation. An interesting social statement if Hispanic life at that time. If one plans on going to visit the southwest, it presents a picture of its development and how it got to the present. A well written and good book.
