I really liked this one, even though Civil War times is not my favorite era to read about. The characters were interesting and I felt I could relate to Laura, the older sister. Highly recommended!

For me recently, reading books by Tracie Peterson has been touch and go. But this one was one of my favorites! The whole plot of this is somewhat different and the mystery is pretty good but the romance is even better:) The characters are very good and likeable, at least most of them. Carissa kept getting on my nerves but in the end I fell in love with her as well. When Laura and Brandon first meet I was really laughing. It is quite funny! Of course if it had been me, I probably would have slapped him. The whole concept of the title is very thought provoking, which you will find out if you read this book. Just don't want to spoil it for anyone else. There is a lot of history in this book and some things I didn't realize with all my studying of the Civil War. This is not a dry book though by any means. Entertaining and well written! Waiting anxiously for the third book in the series. Hoping that maybe it will be about Carissa and Tyler as they seemed to hit it right off.

I received a copy of this book for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.
