Hi everyone...to anyone reading this, this is my first entry and i feel rather shy about submitting it but I wanted to share this poem I made for my mom for Mother's Day. It's about our life so a portion of it is personal but I hope you would still be able to relate with it. Well, here goes...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are very few things in life that are forever
A new job, new car, new friend can come to pass quickly
But to behold something that truly endures a lifetime
It is a rare and beautiful thing...

A TRIBUTE TO A MOTHER'S LOVE

Mom, ever since we were little, you loved us
When we were hungry, you fed us, wet and you changed us
We skinned our knees, you bandaged us up
Had a bad dream, beside us you stayed up

Then you taught us as we went to school
To learn all our lessons and obey the rules
Generosity and kindness, respect and more
These are the things we learned from you at home

You encouraged us to reach our potential in life
And celebrated our successes through hardship and strife
When we were down, you picked us up
You understood our limitations and patted our backs

Then we grew up a little bit more
We started having bigger problems to face
Yet you held our hands and reminded us
To know our true selves and to always have faith

From then on it didn't matter what the problem was
Guy problems, peer pressure, college...so what?
We could handle anything that tried to break us
Because we had you to lean on when the going got tough

Now, one of us is married (you made that happen, too)
I'm sure we three will follow in the next few years
But no matter where we'll be, I'm certain you will be
With us still and always through the laughter and the tears

And so today, we want nothing more than to say
Thank you for everything you do for us each day
To have you for our mother is the best gift we could have
It truly is an honor to love you and be loved

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Belated) Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! You are God's gifts to your children. :)

Thanks, everyone! :) My mom did love the poem, as did she with all the other poems I've written for her. :) i love my Mom very much and I always want to repay her for everything she's done for me and my sisters and this is my simple way of doing so. :) I also made a scrapbook for her with pictures specially chosen to fit the poem. I broke up the poem into lines and spread them through the scrapbook. :) Anyway, thanks again for your nice comments. :)
