This was a decent, kinda run of the mill thriller. I love "The Magician's Tale", the first book in the series, because it really used the color blindness of the protagonist. In "Trick of Light" that focus was gone (perhaps it couldn't be successfully repeated) and we have a decent but pretty forgettable read.

This book is much more to my liking than David Hunt's book "The Magician's Tale". The main character and the setting San Francisco are the same but the story is much less graphic and the climate less twisted.

The plots are well done and interesting.
