I posted a book that was WL.  It got to the 3rd person before someone with conditions decided they wanted it.  Not a problem at all!   The conditions were...not from a smoking household and no ex-library books.  Not a problem!  When I went to mail the book...LAST THURSDAY, I noticed that it was a book-swap book.  Not library, not smoky, but I thought I would be polite and pm the person and let them know.   Finally, today when I wake up, there is a cancellation of the book....no pm back saying Thank you for letting me know or anything!  I just think that it's rude that someone can't say...I appreciate you letting me know since that isn't one of my conditions, but I really prefer not to get BC books.   Some would say that it's my fault for pming with that wasn't a condition...just trying to be nice, though!!

It doesn't take a long time to pm a Thank you!!!

Thankfully, the next WL person accepted it as soon as they got the request...no conditions and I will be happily mailing it out tomorrow!

Just needed to get that off of my chest.  :)  I'm better now!

I hear you....it wouldn't have been too hard to hit reply to say thanks but no thanks!  although I don't think your book violated their conditions, it wasn't an ex-library book.  I probably would have just mailed it.

oh well, at least you know the book has a new home and they will enjoy it!

On the other end, I have been turned down twice for my conditions - no smoking for my son's nose -since most of the books are for him.  Now, I appreciate someone taking the time to read my conditions and I'm fine with being turned down based on my conditions.  Both times I sent a PM saying thank you for reading them and not sending me a book my son would not be able to use.  Neither person PM'd back to say "you're welcome", so I guess it goes both ways, but I would have PM'd you a "thanks".

Thank you both!   That's all that I wanted!  :)

I will not let this harden me and keep me from being kind in the future, though!  :)

Shannon, I hear you--some people just don't communicate, have manners, whatever.....

I wonder if the person who cancelled your WL book is aware that by cancelling she lost her place in the line?

Didn't think about that!

I think it's a new person.  I clicked on the profile when I pmed...maybe even just a few months.   I suppose it's poetic justice for not being considerate!
