Ooh, I sure do love a hero with the hots for the lady in his crosshair. I mean, the man has to wrestle with some serious lust here. It's so delicious because Rex makes Clara feel so desirable, especially since she's so shy and plain (though he thinks she's a beauty and her smiles are like gifts from heaven). However, she thinks he's not the marrying kind and she's holding out for a man who adores her along with marriage and lots of children. Sadly, Rex doesn't believe in love so he tries to remain a gentleman. All the while, he gives her advice via Dear Lady Truelove, and the results are combustible. And oh so swoon worthy. Besides, who can resist a man who has his heart broken along the way? Wonderful reading at 4 stars.
