The Truth of the Matter Is Author:Rita Warren Doesn't everyone have a secret urge to write? I know I did.and still do. Several years ago I became Chairman of the Board of Christian Associates International, a ministry that plants churches in the major cities of Europe. I took on that role with fear and trepidation, wondering if I could do the volunteer job well. One of the commitments I ... more »made as the new Chairman was to make sure the lines of communication remained as open as possible between board members in between quarterly board meetings. As a result, I began to write a weekly email "column" to the board members called Rita's Ramblings, my thoughts on life. I'm not famous, I'm not a celebrity, I'm not outstanding in any way. I am a woman with something to say about a great many subjects, and about life in general. Rita Warren was born in Chicago but grew up in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. She attended U.C.L.A. and has a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. At the age of 24, Rita discovered Christianity and shortly thereafter met her husband, Michael. They were married in 1970 and have two adult, married children, Dana and Matthew, and four grandchildren. While Rita stayed at home to support Michael's television career (creator of "Family Matters," "Step by Step"), she also was a women's Bible study teacher and kept up her writing skills. In 1998 Rita became involved with Christian Associates International, a ministry that plants churches in the major cities of Europe, and she has served as Board Chairman since 2004. Rita and Michael live retired but busy lives in Westlake Village, California, where she continues to write and teach Bible studies. She also spends time in New York City.« less
