I actually just finished this one, and found it very suprising. Was suppose to read it for children's lit. years ago, and skipped it...found it and figured I would give it a shot. Two hours to read, but an incredible story about the resiliance of the human spirit to survive through astronomical adversity...has a shocking part, but the message is wonderful. Good for young readers..can also lead to discussions of the Holocaust and those who survived...middle school read.
