It was a cute story, but I felt there were a few inconsistencies with Lisa's culture shock and lack of information on Japanese customs. With Lisa's mom being Japanese, you would think she would have clued her in on a few big cultural no-nos so she wouldn't make a fool of herself. I guess it makes for more exciting reading when she messes up big time.
Also, even though Lisa claimed she was so proud of being American, she often expressed disgust at the Americans she saw in Japan. They were portrayed as loud, rude, and obnoxious. I don't feel that is a cultural thing so much as it is a personality thing that makes a person rude.
Other than those two minor points, I did enjoy this story. It was a very quick read and a good book to open if you want to read something that does not require too much thinking.
