I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them but I struggled with this one, particularly in the middle. The author goes into details that made the book hard reading for me - right in the middle. I almost put the book down and didn't finish. I am glad I did though. The story premise is good, but if you've read the Hummingbird Falls books, don't expect this to be similar. I think that was part of my issue - I read the Hummingbird Falls books first and expected this to be a little "lighter" reading.
