There are seventeen different patterns. The front cover shows the Gentle Wind and Antique Lace pattern. On the back is Petals and Victorian Lace. It has general dirrection but not in depth; definately not for a begginer.
The pattern Diamonds are Forever starts with an eight pointed star followed by openweave pattern of eight diamonds all around finishes of with eigth tiny diamonds.
This doily has a total of 35 rounds.
The pattern Pineapple Sundae creates a long petals forms that looks like a starfish surrounded by eight pineapples. The edge forms open fans all around.
Petals is exactly that a flower in open weave with tiny pattern within each of the eight petals; stunning.
Summer Nights is a center like a wheel with spokes. Open weave follows with tiny picot stars scattered all around.
Swinging Bells is great for a bridal, since little bells surround a flower in center.Bells all around the perimeter of doily. Wonderful
Candlelight shows the flames of candlesticks in center. Surrounded with more flames and small candlesticks in an open weave pattern. I really like for Christmas time.
Victorian Lace shows a wheel spoke in center with varying patterns of lace all around. The main pattern that stands out is like a ribbon that is folded to create half bows. Very elegant.
Gentle Wind has a pattern with a lovers knot ring. Crates a view like large doily on cover a small flower within a larger one.
Antique Lace is the one in small square on cover. A flower with leaves surrounded with ruffled lace and more open work ending with a ruffled lace edge.
All the doilies have been printe in color and a close up of black and white. I did not find this a difficult book. Yet it goes to note that I work my skills often. I think you'll have a while before you can put this book away.
