I always love picture books that are informative and fun to read. I got this picture book for my niece. She is too young for the little facts, but she loves the sing-song poetry. Each poem is short with a simple rhyme pattern. They are easy to remember and still informative for a learning child. My favorite poem is the Waggle Dance. This tells about the reason a bee dances around in figure eights to inform other bees where flowers with pollen can be found. Each time I read this poem, I can't help but wiggle around with my niece.

The tid bits of information are written in smaller print towards the bottom of the page. They give facts about honeybees that are mentioned within the poems. For an older child, these can add extras to go with the poetry. If you can tie the two of them together, as they are intended, then more learning takes place throughout the book.

The artwork is simple but cute. Some of them are plain, but I've enjoyed using them as models to do art projects with my niece. They are straight forward enough that some finger paints and/or watercolors are all you need.
