Nothing can go right for Mina Grimes. She has the worst luck and for the most part just tries to keep a low profile. That is until the day her class goes on a field trip and she saves the life of the most popular boy in school. Now she has to deal with all this unwanted attention and also learns about a family curse that is her destiny. She is a descendant from the brothers Grimm, and to break the family curse she must live out the fairy tales that made her ancestors famous.
I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the idea of the book and I think a better writer could have made this book amazing. The writing in this novel was awful. It was just so bad. At times it was hard to read. It's a little hard to believe that the editing was worse. I thought the book fell flat. This book is part of a series and I heard the second book is better than the first. I might give it a chance and see if it gets better. Overall I would not recommend this book.

I read this book in one long sitting while I was home sick. It was a super fact, easy read and generally fun. But it wasn't exactly well written. I never felt very invested in the story or characters. I won't continue with the series because I simply don't care, which is a disappointment. The story line has a lot of potential but just isn't well executed.
