If you like your World War II history short and interesting, not requiring any real thought on your part, then this is the book for you.

This review may not sound very complimentary, but I know that there are still people out there who prefer to read Reader's Digest abridged editions of books. At least they read.

Still, there are many stories told within this book that will help the light reader understand that not all of the events that helped shape World War II were done by front line soldiers as often portrayed in the movies. Nor were all the great generals as wonderful as they seem in the history books and movies. After all, it is easy to be a great war leader when you are reading your enemy's mail.

If nothing else, these short tales might induce the casual reader to delve deeper into World War II history.
