This is the third in the Dr. Wesley Peterson series. Kate Ellis is a fine story teller whose characters are well realized and this one grips.

An Unhallowed Grave was a joy to read. The author weaves the historical facts with the present day crimes seamlessly. The crimes committed are not needlessly bizarre nor gratuitously bloody. The archaeological details ad interest without being overdone. Kate Ellis and her Wesley Peterson Mysteries are on my list of favorites.

Third installment of the Detective Wesley Peterson crime series. This time, Detective Peterson and his fellow officers are investigating the death of a middle-aged woman, found hanging from a tree in a village churchyard. As is the pattern in this series, the modern crime has parallels with a medieval crime which occurred in the same town. I really enjoy the characters in this series and also like the mix of medieval history with the modern murder mystery.

This was book 3 in the Wesley Peterson series. There are two time lines running through this story. One from 1475 and one from (1969-1999) which tie together in the plot. An archaeological dig finds a body from 1475 who had been hanged from a yew tree and the 1999 body is found hanging from a yew tree. Is the present murder an execution as in the past or murder?
Kate Ellis' books are always unputdownable. Her plots are interesting and always tie into some history. I have also enjoyed her Joe Plantagenet series which contain a bit of the supernatural. Her characters are quite unique and keep you wanting to learn more about them. I look forward to the next book in the series and recommend that you read her books if you have not read them yet.
