My daughter loves this book. It's about a pug dog who is so ugly (according to the cat and fish) that he is unloveable. Even the other dogs don't want anything to do with Alfred. That's until a new dog moves in next door - and that changes Alfred's world.

The illustrations are bright and fun.

paperback copy, not hardcover. Adorable story of a little pug who is told he is ugly by everyone he knows, so he pretends to be something he is not to an unseen friend. His fib catches up with him and he finds out his unseen friend looks exactly like him. Great story line and lesson for young children.
