The scandalous tragedy at the Bellona Club would not have been so offensive if the death of the ninety-year-old General Fentiman had been discovered earlier. But in the staid old club, he sat unnoticed and very dead for hours. The death drove his youngest grandson into hysteria and shock, and it also brought in Lord Peter Wimsey.
