Poor Pru. Her dreams of settling in the country in a loving marriage with children seems to always be out of reach. And it doesn't help when a suitor is intent on forcing her hand and smearing her reputation in the process. Johnnie is her loyal protector, and while their attraction sparks a few times, it's still a little lukewarm. Perfect for readers who prefer their romances tender, lighthearted, and away from the hubbub of the London set. 3 stars.
