A few weeks ago I mailed out a book and today it was returned saying the addressee moved without leaving a forwarding address.  I guess I was just wondering, should I pm him and offer to remail it to a different address, since he did spend a credit on it.  Or should I relist it as it is a wishlisted book?  If I am not going to mail it to him I should cancel the order, yes?  Not sure what protocol is for a situation like this and I didn't see a topic in the help section.

I might be inclined to go to the PBS team on this one.  You might want to recheck their membership here.  But the PBS team is the only way to find out what's really going on.

This is from the Help docs:

If the book has NOT been declared Lost in the Mail yet, you should contact the requestor to let him/her know that the book was returned, and to confirm the address.

You cannot re-send the book if it is damaged.  If it is damaged, contact us to cancel the transaction.

You are not obligated to re-send the book to the requestor if this happened due to a problem with the requestor's address.   If the book was not damaged when it came back to you, and you do not want to re-send the book to the previous requestor, you can simply repost it.

If you do not get a reply message from the requestor within 5 days of your PM, contact us.

I'd still send a PM to the team because they need to know that this might be a problem with an address that others are sending to.

I had this happen to me once. A WL HC book came back to me a month or so after going lost. I noticed in the members profile the address had changed. I e-mailed the member and they told me they had moved and to just keep the book. I was lucky that the Postman didn't charge me to get the book back as it was media mail. So I just reposted and someone else's wish was granted.

I wouldn't send it again unless I got another credit to cover the postage.  They will charge you postage again. The 1st credit covered the postage you paid the first time. It's not your fault that this person moved while expecting books.  Media Mail isn't usually forwarded.  If it was 1st class then it would have been forwarded if they had changed their address.

I would contact the requestor and offer to repost it to them for another credit.  If you don't get a response then repost it and it'll go to the next person in line.
