This is probably most enjoyable if you're Jewish (I am) because you "get" all the references, but readable for anyone who enjoys a quick ethnocentric, dysfunctional-family novella... I didn't love it, but not bad.

Written by the brother of Zack Braff (from the TV show Scrubs) about a teenage boy's hilariously and achingly sad disfunctional family.

This was the best book I've read in awhile now. I just GOT it; Jacob and his dad, Jacob and Asher, even Jacob and his mom. Not at all the Modern-Day Portnoy's Complaint that it's billed as, this is a much deeper, more tender and more feeling story. A definite don't miss.
