I was not too sure if I was going to like this book. It started a little slow for me, but somewhere in there, I got pulled in and found myself being drawn back to it every evening. The story revolves around a southern family set back in the 30's in south Louisiana. The family faces struggles with race, boozing, and extra marital affairs. The story is put together very well and builds you up to an exciting ending that delivers very well.
