WOW!! The terror and the strength of the people put me to shame when i was whinning over a headache. This story will give you a new prospective on life, and make you ask yourself what really is important and valuable. You will hold the words of this story in your heart for a long long time. They will be sad and they will be joyfull to recall, but don't pass up this read, you will be glad you spent the few hours it took to read this book.

A story of two families in Poland during the Holocaust. If you're like me, you will be amazed at the story of survival and near death, of making decisions that are truly life and death.

This was really well written. This book is about survival but also about compassion and love. I couldn't put it down.

As a child, my Jewish faith never quite interested me, especially when I was too young to appreciate the history behind my religion. Now that I am adult, reading about the Holocaust and the pain and suffering the Jews endured is extremely disturbing in addition to unconscionable. Although any aspect of the Holocaust is far from uplifting, I have been given a new-found appreciation for my ancestry, more so for those who lived to tell about this ordeal. No matter what religion you may follow, this book will certainly give you a new perspective on how to appreciate what truly matters and how the most difficult circumstances we may face throughout our lives are a lot less cumbersome when we have the will, support, and determination to prevail.

Amazing account of the physical survival and the survival of love between a young Jewish couple in a small town in Poland under Nazi control.
