That's a serious subject you tackled. Good job. I think Cain was a brave guy- unleashing god's judgement and all. Good for him!
In the beginning The earthen coffin restricted the being’s movement but all other senses were on high alert. Since the dawn of time its punishment has been to suffer the decline of humankind. Since it was apart of the downfall. The tiny vibrations of something moving above let the being know. Someone was there. Cain and Abel set forth home after giving their offering. Cain’s ire raised as he watched the serene peace on his brother’s face. Knowing his offering was more pleasing. Always trying to out do him. Their small tow cart stood a bit off the road and held the remainder of the flock at bay. Cain felt an anger he never felt before, towards Abel . They stood in the field deciding if this would be a good place to rest. It was scattered with rocks and there were hardly any grazing grasses. The moment Cain set foot on a particular patch of soil his anger turned into a murderous rage. He lunged at Abel catching him off guard and by surprise. They both tumbled to the ground. “Cain!” Abel was pinned and Cain struggled through the haze of pure hatred and confusion. “Do not do this, and be marked.” Cain’s hand grasped the nearest rock. Not really that heavy but solid. He stared his brother in the eyes. “I am not your keeper. My soul be marked, my soul be damned.” The rock crashed down and impacted Abel’s skull. Again, and again and again. The frenzy of the kill left Cain covered with blood spatter and brains. While below the creature felt its job was done. It had succeeded, even from the depths, to interfere with the life of man. To influence the tiniest decisions of a wicked heart. The first murder but certainly not the last. As the blood of the innocent, spilt by an evil deed, trickled down into the deep dark. The creature waited. His resurrection would bring a great darkness into the world. |
