I'm reading a lot of Julie Miller books all at once. Didn't quite like this one as well as most of her others. Is it bc the hero is shorter than is typical?(I don't think that's the case.) Is it because this one had a different setting, most of it happening aboard a floating steamship casino? (Don't think so here either...the setting was really cool & unique.)

Maybe because I'm mostly reading the Larger Print versions and this wasn't???

Okay, so not sure why this one didn't hit me right. I am halfway through the next one, Vice Squad 2: Nine-Month Protector, and enjoying it very much.
