Just a question........  I'm new to this site and I have quite a few books that have a used book store's stamp on either the top or bottom edges of the book.  Would these books be acceptable to post?

I've read some of the other topics and also have some books that have yellowish spots on the edges of the books.  The inside pages are fine and I guess that is because the book stays closed while it is on the shelf.  I will still post these and let the asker know about this before I agree to send it.

Thanks!

The book store stamp is fine, as are the books with yellowish spots (foxing) on the edges.

The used bookstore stamp are fine

As for the yellowing spots, I would say they're fine too but it depends on what they're from. If it's aging then it's no problem. If something spilled/dripped then no ... there is another recent thread on this somewhere. Something called "foxing" that I'd never heard of before.

Thanks for the response.  I was a little skeptical about posting the books with the stamps since I've also read some of the threads about the "horror stories" of people complaining about the condition of the books.

I did read the other thread on the "foxing" stuff.  I've never heard of that so I guess you learn something new every day.  These appear to be from age or the elements.

Library and book store stamps and labels are acceptable. As is yellowing. Food, mold or other stains are not exeptable.  Writing or highlighting (except textbooks) is not exceptable.  If someone has initialed the book or written their name inside-that's ok as long as it's not on every page and over the books writing.

I'd be more than happy to receive a book with a used book store stamp  :)

these are the times where I wish you could put conditions on the book (ie the foxing or UB stamps or BC stamps) however then the FIFO system wouldn't work properly...but it would be good if you were ordering specifically from one person's shelf

Leslie if you don't want books w/used book store stamps, book crossing stamps or yellowing etc.., you can put that in your conditions.  The sender will see that when the book request comes up on their account.
