I thoroughly enjoyed this book. To think I almost passed it by because I saw all the negative reviews I saw on other sites.
It's a post-apocalyptic story. A bit different from many that I've read because it was caused by demons. In this one, the Vagrant is on a mission. His mission is the baby that he carries... the hope of mankind. The Vagrant is a seemingly nonchalant, uncaring kind of person. It makes it hard to like him and yet you still do. When reading about his backstory, you become more understanding and find him very likeable. The story is quite gritty and dark with a tiny ray of hope lighting the way.
The book kept me in awe and I can't wait until the 2nd book comes out. Highly recommended for fantasy/post-apocalyptic fans.
