Marnie is a woman of a certain age who is disappointed at the way her life has turned out. Trapped in an abusive marriage for years only her own strength of character allows her to break free. She emerges emotionally scarred to forge a new successful life for herself as a PA for the distinguished Desmond Lang. He cherishes an unspoken regard for her though is unable to help her becoming embroiled with an enigmatic Dutchman who seems to be certain to break her heart afresh.
Her work in real estate means travels to the Continent and particularly in Spain in a beautiful apartment complex. There she meets an assortment of people of all races who, like her, are trying to succeed in life against difficult odds.
