The only downside of this book, so far, is the fact that the stories I've read are all contemporary. But I can deal with it. These stories run the gamut of frothy to full of meaning.

A BRUSH WITH THE LAW by Janette Rallison --
This is one of those stories that could make me choose contemporary stories; it is a hoot. Bethany Daniels has a blind date for Valentine's Day. First, she has to finish painting a bedroom for a client. And thus begins 'Valentine's Day from Hell.' This story is great fun. Enjoy.

EVERY OCCASION by Heather B. Moore --
Maurie Ledbetter has moved back to her old hometown and is opening her business. In the meantime, she hires Grant Shelton to do repair work on the home she inherited from her mother. When they show interest in each other, Grant feels compelled to admit he's the one who called the police, which put Maurie in a foster home and her mother in jail.

HOLD YOUR BREATH by Jenny Proctor --
Old heart-throb Nate returns to Kayla's life, just two weeks before the Olympics trials. However, she promises herself no one is getting in the way of her Olympic dream. Who cares?

THE ULTIMATE BACHELOR CHALLENGE by Annette Lyon --
Steve, Samantha's long-time boyfriend, plans to call her at 9 am (England time) with an important question. She's expecting a wedding proposal. Because of Sam's superstitions, she goes to an all-night laundromat to wash her lucky outfit. However, Steve calls while she's at the washing machines and asks her a question she's not prepared to answer. There's a guy who is also washing at midnight and he notices Sam's shock. How can he help her?

DEAL BREAKERS by Heather Tullis --
Collette is stranded in a Denver airport with snow pouring down. She needs to get to her sister, who is enduring chemotherapy. Suddenly, Collette runs into an old boyfriend from college, Drew. Collette dumped Drew for someone else and later learned of her mistake. However, Drew was devastated and refused to talk with her about the situation. Now, 10-years later, they meet and start talking. This was a great story until Collette blamed him for not listening to her when she realized her mistake. Boo-hoo. What a dopey woman -- to blame him for her error.

HEY, HELEN! by Sarah M. Eden --
This story is a sleeper! It has depth and meaning. Helen has an advice column and she is friends with Neil, the guy studying accounting next door. As an only child, Neil is a pawn in his parents' marriage; he's very stressed from his position as the only adult in the room. Neil and Helen so value their friendship that they are afraid to explore their interest in each other. Maybe Helen can offer advice to help.

**My faves, from best-to-least: Eden & Rallison (a tie), Lyon, Tullis, Moore, Proctor.
