This is NOT manga. It is NOT a graphic novel. There was an anime based on it, but the actual book is text. I don't know why it is in the Manga genre, because it is not visual at all--it's entirely text. It may still be good (haven't read it), but didn't want anyone else to request it not realizing it was text!

Excellent story writing ability. If you have seen the movie that was based off this book, read the actual book... its MUCH better and easier to understand. If you like vampires, science fiction, and suspense... you'll like this book.

The first novel in the Vampire Hunter D light novels. A good read. Interesting story, interesting premise and room for lots of bad guys to kill in all sorts of gruesome ways. The main problem I had with this book was it's amateurish descriptions, ie "The wind snarled like a beast across the barren sky". Now, one or two such description types you can live with, but with the book filled with them, it really makes you feel like you're reading the scribbled story in a highschool boy's journal.
