I could not put this book down. Ms. Jordan's writing style gives jacinda a voice that just pulls me in and doesn't let go.It was just as good as the first book and I can't wait for the next.

This was a good second book in this series, although I'm not sure how I feel about some of the characters after reading it. Jacinda's mother has to be one of the most selfish, irritating characters I've read about in a while. What a horrible woman.
I was a bit unimpressed with Jacinda's decision making in this book as well. Her lack of common sense and selfish attitude continue in this book, and by the end of the novel, I found myself growing a bit angry with how she was treating people, particularly Cassian. I can't really say much more without spoilers, though, but her back and forth devotion to Will had started to grate on me a bit by the end of the book.
Another question I had to ask while I was reading this one was this: If the dragons are such powerful creatures, then why do the Hunters keep getting the jump on them all the time? Why do they hide and not fight?
I look forward to the third installment (Hidden) when it comes out, because each of these stories ends on a cliff-hanger. I just hope the character of Jacinda will redeem herself in the last book and stop being so selfish.

Well I felt there was improvement in the second book of the series. So far nothing I describe as spectacular. I keep thinking this is all going to come to head and COULD be great. Though at this point I don't know if the author has what it takes to set this series apart. Honestly if this book wasn't loaned to me I'm not sure I would keep reading it. It's a decent series but not stellar. Then again I've read a lot worse!
