This books helps to shape the direction your artistic being as it is transformed. Allows one to acknowledge conscious and unconscious decisions. This way of thinking helped me and I more or less just breezed through it.

Some of the chapter in the book are a little cheesy, but the writing exercises are really great.

Contrary to another reviewer's comment, the copy I have is a hardcover and matches the ISBN shown here.

The Vein of Gold is one of those books that you keep in your library. I've had mine for years, and I frequently find myself pulling it off the shelf for a little inspiration and motivation.

The only book I would recommend over The Vein of Gold is Twayla Tharp's The Creative Habit.

This book is all I expected and more. It's made me look at myself in a new way; I will create from my soul, not from what people want me to do.

Says hardcover, but is a trade paperback. :) Good thought provoking book.

I bought this book together with the author's previous "The Artist's Way" I'm afraid I never got the momentum going to read this one.
