This national bestseller is about a lawyer whose malpractice suit shakes up a powerful Catholic hospital and reveals a cover-up. This has been made into an Academy Award-winning movie starring Paul Newman.

A great courtroom drama (that served as the basis for the excellent Paul Newman movie of the same name) about a medical malpractice case involving a poor young family & their downward spiraling lawyer versus the powers of both the religious & medical establishments.

Riveting courtroom drama featuring an attorney, who for all intent and purpose had given up his career. But the case of a young woman who went into the catholic hospital to have a baby and came out a vegetable, was one that Galvin couldn't turn his back on. Going up against the Catholic Church, charging the Catholic hospital with negligence and a fifteen million dollar suit, just might be his last.

Frank Galvin is a tough-talking, hard drinking, cynical lawyer on the skids. He was once a fighter-now he dosen't give a damn. When a mysterious accident at the Catholic hospital destroys the life of a vital young woman, Gavin smells blood. Suddenly, he's back-suing the guts out of the hospital and ripping the invincible medical establishment apart.
