A lifetime has passed between us
Years of good and bad.

The more I loved you,
the more you hurt me
put me down,
made me frown.

You're not good enough
your constant refrain,
If you don't like it,
Leave.

You’re always perfect.
I'm at fault
I’m to blame--me, me, me,
For your troubles.

You give orders
I'm your marionette
responding to the puppetmaster's strings.

I'm an insect
you crush without thought
and scrape
from the bottom
of your shoe.

Do I deserve this?
I loved you too well
and gave you the upper hand.

I weep when I recall
your ruthless words
like fists pummeling my battered soul.

You laugh at my tears
saying, if you cry a lot
your tears mean nothing.

Not fit for
human companionship,
You deserve
to be alone,
solitary to the end
of your days.

The bitterness I sensed in this gives me a strange feeling. I can feel those emotions pouring out with your words. Well written.
