Is there any way to view a list of people who have a certain book in their wish list?  Only a few minutes ago, I received a brand new copy of Hummingbird Falls by Joanne Clarey (click).  It came with a couple of other random books and I really have no interest in it, but it's in near-perfect unread condition, so I thought maybe someone on here might want it.  I checked the Wanted list and found THIS BOOK.  It has a different ISBN and even a different title than the book in my possession, but I believe they are the same book and that my copy is simply a reprint.  Anyway, somebody has the older version on their wish list and I was wondering if there is any way for me to contact them and ask if they would want the copy that I have.  Can this be done or do I have to just wait and hope somebody comes along?

Sorry to say you have to wait until someone comes along.  There's no way to find someone who wants it.

If I have something like that I put it in my forum setting at the bottom.  I might also post a message in the Book Bazaar just saying you have it, not really offering a deal.  A couple of different forums, like mystery and the romance or chick lit have threads that say something like is this on your wish list.  They're threads where you can advestise the book.  Especially since the ISBN is different - there are threads for that too in those forums.

Good luck!

Okay, thanks for the response.  I'm not super worried about advertising the book, but I may look into those options just for the heck of it.  Thanks again.

After you post it, PBS might e-mail the other member to let them know that a book similar to their wishlist book has been posted.  I recently received an e-mail like that when an audiobook version of a paperback on my wishlist was posted.

If the book is wishlisted, I think that an email will go out saying to the people who have it wishlisted that a similiar book has been posted. There's been a number of books on my wishlist that I've gotten that way by selecting that book. If I don't really care what type of binding I get, I usually try to snag the book that way.

I go and put on a tag under the WL book that it is also available under such and such number.

The system is suppose to send an email about other versions.  But it is really picky about how a book is entered into the system.  Need to have exactly the same name spelling and such.  And that gets to be an issue around middle names and periods following initials.  The system is a machine after all.

Chris, there is a thread in the Book Bazaar forum that you might want to check out, it's called *****April Wishlisted Books with Different ISBN's***** ,  it might be a good place to also list it
