Eric, a warrior prince from Ireland, travels to England in his Viking ship to help the King fight a war against the Danes and is attacked coming to shore when the heroine sees the dragon prows and thinks theyre under attack. The message that the great warrior, Eric and his men were coming never made it in time...or so it seemed. Infuriated that he was attacked, Eric claims the land and the people who attacked him and in order to restore the peace, the king also gives Eric his godchild, Rhiannon, who is the rightful owner of the land.

Rhiannon detests the Vikings and refuses to marry. She tries every trick she can think of to stall the wedding, even lying to the king, but all she manages to do is cause Erics anger over the attack to burn hotter.

This book is 2nd in a trilogy about Olaf the White and his sons and while the first book was fantastic, it took me a while to get through this one. The story was good, the sexual tension was high and the love scenes were hot but the characters lacked something. I couldnt find a reason to care about them. The heroine bordered on irritating most of the time and Erics distrust of her made most of the scenes seem repetitive.

Love conquers all and the happily ever after is rewarding but getting their was a battle for the characters and for the reader.
