From the back cover:

The F.S. Kaliningrad is the last great triumph of Soviet submarine technology. Now it is at sea beneath the polar ice cap. Aboard is the most brilliant commander in the Russian undersea fleet, Admiral Alexi Novskoyy. In his fanatic hands is the power to turn back the clock to the cold war and begin the countdown to doomsday.

Opposing him in the killer-chase sub U.S.S. Devilfish is Captain Michael Pacino. His orders: to find and destroy the invincible Russian vessel. His private passion: to settle a score with the man who killed his father.

The ultimate undersea duel is about to begin...
