This is one true crime book that makes you wonder how safe your family, children, teen agers really are every time they go out into the world. I found the book easy to read but after a while, frankly, I started questioning (again) my infatuation with the true crime genre. The way people takes other people lives, the sick and violent way it happens, started wearing me out. I can only imagine the shock and misery of the parents of the parties involved. As for the killer: certain people should not be allowed to breathe. Their heads should be cut away from their shoulders instead of going through the traditional trial, where the defense team reveals the abusive nature of their upbringing, trying to minimize and obtain a lenient verdict. This crime was a shocker, needless and violent, and just keeps re-enforcing the need to be alert of your whereabouts at all times, specially for the younger crowd. No park is really safe, no quiet isolated spot is recommended, the less people around the more one should worry that some evil is lurking around. 3.5 Stars.
