Cory Doctorow has some really interesting ideas about possible near-future and currently emerging societies. But reading one of his novels, you've got to have a lot of tolerance for reading debates. There's tons of conversation but not a lot of doing. I've liked several of his books but I couldn't get into this one, although I did want to find out where he was going with it. After 70 pages of very little but dialogue, I gave up. Maybe I need the Cliff Notes version.
