Walker Evans (1903-75) is now considered perhaps the finest documertary photographer ever. His inmages have had considerable influence on other artists, not just in the field of photography. He is well known for his images of the 1930s documenting the effects of the great depression on the rural population. He also photographed many shopfronts, billboards, and the seemingly inconsequential details of urban life.« less
