In the late summer of 2007, I traveled to Alaska. It is a beautiful breathtaking state. The writer captures the spirit contained in so many Alaskans. Those that stay, love their state in a manner that is accepting of harsh weather, fabulous sun, mountains that roll along the highways, long rides between places, art and culture. Ned and Jane become celebrities as they walk the 800 miles from Prince William Sound to the Artic Ocean. A journey I was happy to read about but would never do myself.
