Most of the book is about how scared the heroine is of hero and why he puts up with her and her nonsense, I didn't get it. Plus, he's not very interesting either! I didn't find any of it romantic and didn't feel an ounce of attraction between the characters. I found myself skimming much of the book, it was just plain boring and I distinctly remember rolling my eyes many times. It felt as if the characters kept saying and doing the same thing over and over... I'm a avid historical romance novel reader, and this book is a let down.

Olivia is an acknowledged wallflower. She dreads showing up at her finishing school's annual ball a single miss after four seasons without a marriage proposal. Controlled and her life regimented by her parents, especially her mother, she doesn't even know what she would enjoy doing or what she wants in a husband, except to be loved. Tired of their daughter's unwed state, her parents arrange a marriage for her with a man she has never met - a man who the ton whispers killed his wife. She becomes outrageous in her actions to embarrass him into calling off the wedding.
