A very odd and disturbing retelling of the story of Noah's Ark. It took me awhile to get into this one, but it was worth it in the end. I think I need to reread this one somewhere down the line to fully appreciate all that it has to offer. It's *dense*.

A re-telling of the archetypal story of the Flood, populated by characters like the patriarch-dictator Noah, his wonderfully strong spouse Mrs. Noyes and the standard assortment of children and animals, including a unicorn who never makes it to the end of the voyage. What a powerful imaginatiion Findley possesses!!

Not wanted on the voyage is not your typical bible story. In fact it is quite irreverent and funny as h... But it also has an incredible deeply human side to it. A little fantasy, a little history, a little mystery, a little discrimination awareness and a whole lot of twists and turns. This is a "I can't put this book down" kind of read.
