So I have mixed feelings on this book - probably because I really didn't like one of the main characters. Billie is the mom who is missing and presumed dead in this story. The more I learned about her - the more I didn't like her. I honestly don't know if this was the author's intention. I really did like the father and daughter in the story and the plot line - although I had a pretty good guess at the ending (again - not sure if that was intentional?) Regardless, its a good story and I would recommend the book - you don't have to love all the characters to enjoy the book.
