I enjoyed this book learning about England and Beatrice's life. Her struggles and challenges traveling to a different country for work and learning the language and customs in Holland.

Beatrice sympathized with Gijs van der Eekerk. A widower with a small child and a busy medical career, he needed someone to see that his domestic life ran like clockwork. But what good was that, if Gijs couldn't offer her love?
