This book is hilarious! It's also sexy and steamy as well as being a tongue in cheek who-done-it. If you're looking to improve your mood and brighten your day, this book will do it!

Prepare to be absolutely charmed by Jennifer Crusie's riotous tale of two slightly twisted sisters and a town chock full of hunks, coots, and petty politics in Welcome to Temptation.
Sophie and Amy Dempsey are just two wedding filmers trying to hop to the next level of their careers when they agree to produce a documentary of aging film star Clea Whipple's return to her hometown of Temptation, Ohio. And when the local mayor, Phin Tucker, and the police chief, Wes Mazur, proffer themselves as willing subjects for quick flings, Sophie and Amy aren't the type to object. But things are never easy in rural Ohio, and what starts off as an esoteric art film project soon evolves into potential porn--and that's just the relationships, let alone the documentary. Clea's husband Zane turns belly-up, the race for mayor turns dirty, and Sophie and Phin turn on the heat full steam.

With hot sex, clever characters, and Crusie's trademark wit, Welcome to Temptation will keep your eyes glued to the page and your stomach aching with laughter.

Very good. Small town secrets, desire and temptations, everybody happy in the end.

A romance/comedy that has wonderfully "twisted" characters. It is nice to have characters that aren't perfect and develop slowly throughout the book, not just in one fell swoop at the end! This is the second book I've read by Crusie and I'm hooked.

Another hilarious book from Jennifer Crusie. The heroine and her sister come to a smalltown to make a short movie. The mayor and town council are worried that they are making a porn movie. Soon there are lies, blackmail, & a murder.

All of Jennifer Crusie's books have a little intrigue and romance. They are a fun, quick read.

This book was a real struggle for me to finish. If I hadn't been having it read to me via audibook, I don't honestly think I would've stuck it out. Until now I've enjoyed all of the Crusie books I've read but this one just didn't resonate with me. It's about a pair of sisters who visit the town of Temptation to shoot a documovie on a fading movie star (at least that's what I got out of it). They've always been outsiders and were raised by a con man so and though they're harmless enough they rather thrive on being a little 'bad'. Naturally, one of the sister's falls for the upright major. They have lots of supposed fantasy sex (that was a bit boring, if you ask me) and the major gets into hot water because the town is afraid the movie the sisters are making is going to be nothing but porn. Someone dies, a water tower gets painted several times, the aging starlet has sex with the son of her former lover, a young girl falls in love a porn producer (I found this storyline gross) and other assorted things happen that I found unbelievable. This book didn't have the wit and spark of the earlier books I've read by this author and in the end there were so many characters that I had a very difficult time remember who was who and wouldn't bother rereading it to figure it out.

Sophie Dempsey is content living a quiet life filming wedding videos until an assignment brings her to Temptation, Ohio. From the moment she drives into town, she gets a bad feeling; Sophie is from the wrong side of the tracks and everything in Temptation is a little too right. And when she has a run-in with the town's unnervingly sexy mayor, Phineas Tucker, making a little movie turns out to be more than a little dangerous. All Sophie wants to do is film the video and head home. All Phin wants to do is play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. They both get more than they bargained for when Sophie's video causes an uproar and the proper citizens of Temptation set out to shut them down. As events spiral out of control, Sophie and Phin find themselves caught in a web of gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, and really excellent sex. All hell breaks loose in Temptation as Sophie and Phin fall deeper and deeper in trouble . . . and in love.
