The book starts off about the children: Cristabel, Digby and Flossie who are closely related, and follows them from their youth until after the end of WW II. So many things happen to the children, but their close relationship saves them from extremely inattentive parents. The Whalebone Theatre is a character unto itself. I didn't want the story to end, I wanted to see what the rest of their lives would be like. I will look forward to future work from this author.
