Since things have been quiet, figured I'd combine July and August... see what everyone is reading on their vacations... |

I just finished Flat Out Celeste by Jessica Park. It's a companion to Flat Out Love. It was just as entertaining and good. I would recommend both. You don't have to have read the first one, but it does help understand Celeste's character a lot more...her quirks and references made. |

I have switched over to the dark side of Adult Fiction for a while and have been reading The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger... about 50 pages in and it is quite interesting. Doubt I will ever want to go on a boat again after finishing it though |

I finished For Darkness Shows the Stars :: Diana Peterfreund. It seemed to drag a bit and leaves you wanting to know behind what happened to the world and why are some people and what was the reduction. I will probably read book two because I want to know what happened |

I FINALLY finished Alienated by Melissa Landers last night for Julien's comptuer swap. I don't know why, but I really struggled through it and it took me AGES to finish it. It was decent and I liked how it flowed...want to read the next one when it comes out. But it just took forever. Then, I started Timekeeper by Alexandra Monir last night and I'm already 1/2 way through that one... Hope to finish that tonight already! |

I finished TImekeeper....flew threw it...couldn't put it down. Had to remember what happened in the first one, but once it came back to me, I needed to see how it would go!
Now onto my final book for Julien's swap...How to Love. Anyone else read it? |

I started reading last night The Girl with the Windup Heart (Steampunk Chronicles, Bk 4) :: Kady Cross. If you enjoy steampunk this is a great series. Fairly mature YA, strong plot and characters. It is set in 1897 England. |

I just finished City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, the final book in the Mortal Instruments Series. Maybe it's just me, but I have really hated the final books to a bunch of recently ended series. Things are just wrapped up too easily and neatly for me. I don't regret reading it, but it was just too neatly tied with a bow for me. Oh, and too many hints/previews for offshoot series for me. |

Finished Endless, the final book in Kate Brian's Shadowlands series. LOVED the series... And this too would make a great set of movies... Get a bunch of young pretty stars to be in them.... finally going to finish Be with Me so I can get Stay With Me when it comes out in September. I am enjoying Rebel Belle :: Rachel Hawkins. This book is a bit different than her other two series, but the characters grow on you. |

I read 3 books while at the beach last week. All 3 were New Adult ones though: Redemption of Callie and Kayden (book #2) - Jessica Sorensen (ok...liked the 1st one more) Misunderstandings (Woodfall Girls book #1) - Tiffany King (enjoyed but figured out what was going to happen fairly quickly) Needing Her - Molly McAdams (not bad) |

I finished up The Perfect storm and ended up absolutely loving it... super interesting and heart wrenching. Had to top it off by watching the movie which I adored as well... who doesn't love to look at George Clooney ;). Started Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella and it is cute so far. I definitely needed a lighter read after the last one... I devour Kinsella books so I am headed back to YA and am debating between For Darkeness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund and Unwholly by Neal Schusterman. Any recommendations?
